That you have to take good care of your skin to keep looking radiant and young, is something we have known for a long time. But do you take care of your hands regularly?
The skin of the back of our hands is very thin and has little fatty tissue, which means that it will show wrinkles more quickly. Our palms then have sufficient fatty tissue, but no sebaceous glands. They therefore feel dry and rough faster. For all these reasons unkempt hands can lead to extremely dry, chapped or itching skin.
The following tips ensure that your hands stay nice and healthy for longer:
Step 1: Cleanse
Use a gentle soap that does not dry out the skin, possibly enriched with Shea Butter or Aloë Vera.
Step 2: Scrub
Use a custom hand scrub and do not rub too hard: do not forget that the skin of your hands is tender and thin. One to twice a week is sufficient.
Step 3: Care and Hydrate
Apply some hand cream on the back of your hands and rub them over each other. To avoid too much cream on your palms so that you get sticky hands, you only turn your hands when the cream is already well absorbed and then smear your palms. Immediately massage some hand cream on your nails.
Tip: Do you have very dry hands? Apply a thick layer of cream before bedtime and put on cotton gloves. In the morning you will wake up with extra soft hands.
Give yourself a hand massage
A hand massage is not only relaxing but also a blessing for your skin
That’s how you handle it…
- Shake your hands.
- Apply hand cream.
- Massage your palm with your thumb. Begin with gentle, circular massage movements on your wrist and work upwards.
- Massage each finger separately and go all the way to the top of each finger.
- Repeat these operations for the other hand.
